| A Mayor to Serve,
not to Rule, while Leading
the way... |
Greetings from Duri Naimji. Candidate again
for Mayor Nov 10, 2003.
Don’t all citizens of Toronto,
those who vote and those who don’t bother to vote, have a
right to a cleaner,
safer, richer,
healthier, lovelier
city?
Aren’t the citizens of Toronto entitled
to have a purer glass of water,
a cleaner lungful of air, fearless
streets, warm homes, healthy
food?
Don’t all citizens of Toronto have a right
to a new mayor whose steady study, constant concern, daily duty,
and major business are to ensure each
citizen and resident is; treated fairly,
sheltered warmly, working
proudly, enjoying a free, fearless,
peaceful and happy
life?
|
 |
Then why not come out and vote? And consider as your new mayor Candidate
Naimji?
Don’t the citizens of Toronto deserve:
A new mayor who can work with the provincial and federal government
rather than annoy or just blame or stupidly imitate them?
A new mayor who does not waste resources on idle trips abroad, on
swollen salaries for councillors, on extravagant frills and big
bills?
A new mayor who will not invite gamblers to operate casinos in Toronto?
Or clutter the roadways with 200 trucks per day fetching garbage
to USA just for easy cash, or base Toronto's energy in USA?
Candidate Naimji will remind, assure, expect, treat each citizen
to believe that, and behave as if, the city belongs mainly to them,
and not to just town hall workers, police constables, or vehicle
drivers inside windshields, as they did during the power black out!
Why not boldly vote him for the new mayor of Toronto Nov. 10th,
2003?
While a degree with some political theory may not be sufficient
to run a big and sophisticated city as Toronto, it certainly is
necessary to do an effective and
worthwhile job.
Toronto needs, in the considered view of many of us, not
more police, not more taxes,
not more buses and trains, not
more excuses. What we do need
is less waste, and more
sensible use of what we already
have. We also need to consider, embrace and observe fraternity/sorority
- the principle that everyone else is
like a brother/sister/kin/neighbor. In the recent "power
shortage", the residents of Toronto have shown respect
for people, law, property... not
out of fear of police, but being
just self-disciplined! Each kept
an eye on one another, and respected others' rights to life,
safety, property,
as others do to them! This respect,
in our view, more than anything
else, makes a world-class city!
Do you really think
the other candidates, especially the so-called front-runners, will
improve the
lives of needy? Newspapers, TV and Radio station, Police
constables, Board of Trade, This-and-That associations...self-erected
experts in politics, etc., etc..., even some big time imitators,
of Sa, seem to write, talk, and act, as if only
they own Toronto, and as if only they matter and can decide
who leads Toronto. Are some of you content
just to drink ale, watch and talk, ... When you can take the first
step to improve your lives
by using, exercising.. your vital right
and duty, to vote on 10 Nov.,
2003?
Awake, my friends, arise and off to join
your arrows! |
